Status of domestic serum industry

At present, the domestic biological industry is facing a shortage of imported high-quality bovine serum, which is affected by mad cow disease (BSE), foot-and-mouth disease (FMDV), and bovine diarrhea virus (BVDV). The prices of fetal bovine serum, newborn bovine serum and other related products are constantly rising. Fetal bovine serum and bovine related processing products are controlled by the state ban on import. Therefore, even if the vast number of scientific research users and biological industry workers spend high prices, they may not necessarily buy genuine bovine serum and newborn calf serum with stable quality. The source of domestic fetal cows is mainly from the cross between American and Canadian Holstein cows and Chinese yellow cattle, commonly known as "Chinese friesian cows", plus the most caused by heavy use of antibiotics in the process of breeding cows residual toxins from the blood, affecting the quality of the products of the serum, and restricted by blood collection technology, greatly reduce the quality of the domestic fetal bovine serum.
